A mundane lunch

I wanted to write but could not think of any bright ideas so I decided to write about lunch. It is after all my 3rd equally favorite meal of everyday and there is much one can babble about food.

Working from home has ushered in an era of unprecedented cooking in our household  As I peered into the refrigerator contemplating what to cook, I realized something. I liked looking into the fridge more than I liked looking inside my wardrobe. It is probably the opposite for my wife and this is exactly why I will never be as thin as she is.

Anyways, do I make something with the leftover paneer or make cauliflower fry with sambar? Do I want to eat rice or rotis? What is the quickest dish to cook that is also edible? These are the questions that planning in advance might help with but today was not one of those days.

I opened the fridge door a couple more times and just started cutting onions randomly. Hey, whatever it is we are going to need onions!

Do I actually explain the recipe now? This might be the only useful thing for the readers in comparison to the pointless rant I'm currently doing.

Heat a pan and add a dollop of ghee with some oil (avocado, sunflower or coconut if you want your food to smell like your hair).

Let the mustard seeds and jeera anguish in this boiling oily hell.

Sautee some chopped onions and tomatoes. Sprinkle some Hawaiian sea salt if that's where your recent trip was, else just use regular salt.

Use the same masalas that you use to cook every dish - turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder(what does this even do?), a pinch of garam masala(as if I know what this is for).

Chop some carrots and add it to the mix along with some water for the carrots to cook in.

After 5 minutes, grate the leftover paneer from yesterday night and cook for 5 more minutes.

Your wife will tell you that the food smells delicious because she didn't have to cook.
